JIYONGKIM

After graduating from Central Saint Martins in London, designer Jiyong Kim launched JIYONGKIM to emphasize sustainability and raise awareness of wasteful fashion practices. His collections are realized through a nature-friendly sun-fading technique, with results born from months of exposure to the natural elements — a process called sun bleaching, recognized as a way to reduce water consumption and an alternative to chemical dyeing. JIYONGKIM's collections stand out through neutral tones and distinctive patterns, where draping, easy silhouettes, and vintage fabrics and hardware come together in harmony. Through this work, he pursues an aesthetic of slowness, building an eco-friendly and sustainable brand. His work explores the beauty of design that is at once unique and deeply considerate of the environment.
