Commission

New York–based Commission is a brand created by Jin Kay and Dylan Cao, capturing childhood memories, the histories they have lived through, and a longing for their parents. Commission debuted with a women's collection in 2018, drawing inspiration from East Asian heritage — also the designers' own — and from the clothing of mothers who lived as 80s and 90s working women. The men's line borrows the polished suiting style of 70s fathers. Tailoring-infused business casual is also perfectly suited to comfortable everyday wear, with precisely cut blazers, slacks, and knitwear coming together as essentials.
